Dorothy Helen Hodgkiss

Dorothy Helen Hodgkiss, 78 of Wellsburg, WV passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at home.

She was born on April 18, 1934 in Martins Ferry, OH a daughter of the late John and Anna (Hartman) Orend. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her infant son, Jeffrey Hodgkiss, and a sister, Ann Wingate.

Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and Lutheran by faith. She was a bookkeeper for Monongahela Power and Wellsburg Banking and Trust and later the treasurer and bookkeeper for the former Valley Press in Wellsburg, WV.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jack Hodgkiss whom she married on February 2, 1953, three children, Jack (Linda) Hodgkiss, Myrtle Beach, SC, Judy (Scott) Honsaker, Martinsburg, WV, and Douglas (Lorraine) Hodgkiss, Claysville, PA two sisters, Elsie Burkle of Eaton, OH, and Rose Sadler, Yorktown, IND Ten grandchildren, Oliver (Rebecca) Hodgkiss, Mallory (Arthur) Jashienski, Ben (Nikki) Hodgkiss, Joe Hodgkiss and companion Madison Hardy, Monica (Joe) Fairall, Alison (Justin) Miller, Raven and Nicole Honsaker, Travis and Drew Hodgkiss Seven great grandchildren

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27th from 6-8 P.M. and again on Monday, January 28th from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV, with Pastor Joy Leasure, officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Martins Ferry, OH.
