Margaret Ellen Corbin

Margaret Ellen Corbin, 91 of Wellsburg, WV passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Weirton Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Margaret was born on January 14, 1921 in Barnesville, OH a daughter of the late Frank E. and Anna M. (Davis) Gatchell. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Corbin, Sr., a daughter, Margaret Ann Wales and son-in-law, John C. Wales, Sr., a step son, George Corbin, a granddaughter, Kathleen Henlser, two brothers, Harv and Frank Gatchell, and two sisters, Virginia McMillian, and Leona Marsh.

Margaret was a homemaker and a member for over 72 years of the Franklin United Methodist Church, the Franklin Women’s Club, and the last Charter member of Women of the Moose #1564, a Charter member of the Brooke County A.A.R.P. #3910, and the Wellsburg Civic League.

She is survived by five children, Louis W. (Margaret) Hensler, Jr. and Rev. Michael M. (Deborah) Hensler both of Wellsburg, WV, James O. (Joy) Hensler of Greenville, SC, Anna Eileen (David) Wood of Wellsburg, WV and Mary Virginia “Ginni” (Dan) Walden of Bethany, WV Two step sons, Charles Corbin, Jr. and James E. Corbin both of Wellsburg, WV. 20 Grandchildren 38 Great Grandchildren One Great Great Grandson Several nieces and nephews among them Wilma Light of Chandler, AZ.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8th from 1:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV. The Women of the Moose will have services at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends will then be received on Wednesday, January 9th from 10:00 A.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. at the Franklin United Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Tribett, officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery in Wellsburg, WV.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Franklin United Methodist Church at 1231 Washington Pike Wellsburg, WV 26070.
